Several tips for searching scholarship either online or offline has been mention in Scholarshipworkshop.These are two of interesting advise basef on US experiences.

* Successful students do not rely on only one source such as the
Internet for their scholarship search. They use many resources. Many scholarships on the Internet or in the free scholarship searches that you find on the World Wide Web are nationally known and are harder to win due to greater competition. Local and regional scholarships are not found as easily through an Internet search, although they may be easier to win because the applicant pool is smaller. You have to use a combination of resources to find as many scholarships to apply for as possible.

* Successful students do not apply to one or two scholarships and
wait for the best. They apply for all scholarships they are eligible of win. They keep applying until the total they have won exceeds what they need to pay for the college they want to attend or until they graduate with a degree.

This book provides essential guidance for all students who are thinking of studying for a postgraduate qualification in Britain.

Alongside detailed information about the British university system (from the application process to the viva) Nicholas and Rosalind Foskett provide readers with an introduction to other essential pastoral and practical aspects to study in Britain: Immigration regulations; living and working in Britain; cultural traditions and expectations of student life; finance and support systems.

Key Features:

  • Written with a focus on key questions frequently asked by postgraduate students
  • Every chapter includes a Pause for Thought feature designed to encourage students to spend time thinking about views, needs, and ideas on the topic that is being covered
  • End-of-chapter Key Risks section presents a brief summary of the main elements to be aware of in order to avoid problems.

This book is easily accessible and is essential reading for anyone thinking about, or already enrolled on, a postgraduate course in the UK who is less familiar with the unique character of the British HE system and unfamiliar with British culture in general.

A book by By David Wilkinson will give valuable guide for success in study.

“To do justice to the postgraduate journey as experienced by the students, quotations and anecdotes from the author’s own research … are drawn upon. These anecdotes provide vivid insights into the postgraduate experience, thereby livening up the text and providing some solace to those facing similar issues in their postgraduate existence’ – Education and Training Journal

For anyone embarking on postgraduate study, this is an indispensable guide. Packed with hands-on advice and examples from students themselves, David Wilkinson provides:

- Up-to-date information on developments in postgraduate study;

- Guidance on where and how to apply;

- Advice on constructing effective research proposals, with examples of successful submissions;

- Help with developing an academic writing style and advice on how to get published.

While each consecutive chapter develops and builds upon its predecessor, the book has been designed to be easy to ‘dip into’ to help resolve a problem or examine an issue of relevance to a particular stage of the process.

Detailed yet highly accessible, The Essential Guide to Postgraduate Study is a ‘must-have’ resource for prospective postgraduates, current postgraduates and anyone interested in better understanding postgraduate study in UK universities and colleges.

This book is very important as a guide to find scholarship scheme in UK. Searching online is one of the best way to find your dream scholarship. However, the book seems to me that available information written by author will have great benefit.
Unfortunately, the books has not printed yet.

Times newspaper published in London recently put 200 high ranking universities in the world. Some of them are universities in UK. Before you apply for scholarship or you are applying for a site at an university its better to look at it first.
