Qualifying Details
Three bursaries are available each year for three years starting September 2006. The awards include full payment of UK/EU student fees plus a stipend towards living expenses (£5200). Non-EU individuals are welcome to apply but only if they have previously worked in a cancer research laboratory in the UK and are committed to continuing their research career in the UK after the course. The normal entry requirement is that students should possess a good initial degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, bioscience or medicine; entry may be considered by course administration officer if no formal qualification exists but sufficient experience can be presented (application, viva and employer reference). Further notes on eligibility: * It is envisaged that individuals already conducting cancer research for at least 2 years will apply in order to develop skills in bioinformatics research and subsequently return to cancer research. * Applicants may be less than 2 years from the date of their undergraduate degree or have not previously worked in cancer research but in these circumstances should demonstrate a clear commitment to use their transdisciplinary training in a cancer relevant field in the future. Qualifying Details
It is hoped to make an election to the Rouse Ball Travelling Studentship in Mathematics for the academical year 2006-07. The Studentship is for the study of mathematics or the application of mathematics in a university or equivalent institution outside the British Isles. Preference will be given to a candidate who intends to study at a European university. The Studentship is tenable for a year or lesser period although the Studentship is not normally intended solely for attendance at conferences or summer schools. A successful candidate is not eligible for re-election.

The Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI) has a number of scholarships available for candidates wishing to commence study for a doctoral degree. Applications are invited from prospective students with research proposals in the above areas.
The Institute particularly wishes to expand research in Globalisation and the Media, and Media Audiences. The duration of the scholarship is three years, and entitles the student to a stipend (currently £10,000 per annum) and a tuition fee waiver.
